Congratulations Bike & Build alum!  The first ever CWM ride was a bigger success than we could have ever imagined.  The final numbers are in, and after all expenses we wound up donating $12,540.72!  This is more than double our original projections.

For the first time in its history, Bike & Build will be running a winter ride this holiday season! The inaugural Chris Webber Memorial ride will be a week long mini Bike & Build open to alumni of any previous trip. Meeting in beautiful Orlando, FL on December 29th for a quick "re-orientation," the group will immediately make a break for the coast, spending the first day riding to Cocoa Beach. The following three riding days traverse the scenic Florida Treasure Coast, featuring New Years in the Ft Pierce/Port St Lucie area and an overnight in Hobe Sound. The ride will conclude in sunny Fort Lauderdale and be followed by three days of building with the local Habit for Humanity of Broward County.

This ride is in memory of Christopher Howland Webber, who passed away this past March at age 25. Chris was a Bike & Build trip leader in 2005, and became the Program Director for the organization in the fall of that same year. Chris possessed a steadfast dedication to Bike & Build and an unwavering desire to strengthen the organization. He is missed dearly, and all of the proceeds from this ride will be donated to the Chris Webber Memorial Fund. In addition to donating over 500 hours of volunteer time to Habitat for Humanity, this trip hopes to donate over $6,000 for the fund.
