In order to strengthen the organizational capacity of Bike and Build, we need to rely on the strong support and varied skill set of our program’s alumni. The AVP’s purpose is to cultivate alumni support and utilize the diverse alumni skill set to strengthen the organizational capacity of Bike & Build. The AVP is split into committees. Public Relations - Spread the word about Bike & Build via recruitment, media outreach, newsletters, and merchandise
Fundraising - Provide current riders with tips to get that $4,000 raised, explore external fundraising options and develop a strong base of repeat donors
Equipment, Safety, & Training - Evaluate safety policy to ensure that safety remains Bike & Build’s top priority, work with bike shops to solicit gear donations
Hosts & Routes - Maintain relationships with hosts for each trip, ensure that routes are evaluated after each summer and that information gets passed along.
Information Technology - Keep Bike & Build up to date with technological advances and update the website
Affordable Housing - Strengthen “the cause” information provided to our riders, and reevaluate the affordable housing curriculum for our trips
