Bike & Build is looking for exceptional young adults to serve as Trip Leaders for our 2012 events.

Trip Leaders are the producers, leaders, and enablers of Bike & Build’s tours. They help to provide for event logistics, accommodations, gear, routes, meals, etc. From sun-up to sun-down, they make sure that things go smoothly and all are safe.

Trip Leader roles are extremely demanding and rewarding. In addition to meeting the demands of a cross-country trip, you’ll be responsible for supporting and managing a team of thirty of your peers and working as a team with other leaders. Bike & Build is looking for exceptional young adults with strong leadership qualities to fill these important positions.

Successful applicants will be able to undertake multiple tasks at once, manage their time well, and hit stated deadlines; be detail-oriented and meticulous about planning logistics and managing information and resources; think critically about Bike & Build and it’s mission, and translate this into a proper tone during the event; communicate well with and relate to peers their age, showing patience, compassion, and care, while maintaining authority and professionalism.

Dates For Leader Applicants (only 1 hiring round this year!)

• Oct 21 – Leader application forms are posted on the Bike & Build website.  Leader candidates can submit these specific forms anytime and begin scheduling interviews.  First round interviews will be set up on a rolling basis, with the first calls beginning towards the end of October.
  • If you are under 25 and also interested in being a rider if not chosen as a leader your completed leader application will also add your name to the rider lottery.
  • Applying to be a leader IN NO WAY affects your odds in the rider lottery.  Applying to be a leader IN NO WAY affects your odds in the rider lottery.
  • Unlike previous years we will only be doing a single round of leader hiring this year, and we aim to have all teams complete by the end of December or early January.

• Nov 14th – Final deadline for leader applicants.  All forms must be received before 11:59PM EST on Monday, November 14th.  ABSOLUTELY NO EXCEPTIONS.

  Remember... even though it is rolling interview process it makes our lives a lot easier (and makes your app stand out a lot more) if you don't submit at absolutely the last minute!!!
