| Eligibility Requirements
Bike & Build welcomes all housing groups and service organizations to submit a grant application for consideration. Our program aims to mobilize young adults to affect the affordable housing cause -- we welcome applications for established programs, as well as those for innovative and non-traditional projects. Bike & Build requires grant applications for projects:
|
| - From strong and active organizations dedicated to providing affordable housing; Bike & Build will not fund proposals from individuals, - Which utilize funds for projects that affect the affordable housing landscape on a local, regional, or national level. Construction, educational, advocacy, and other types of projects will all be considered, and - Which are chiefly planned and/or executed by young adults, ages 18-25. |
| Selection Procedure
During the course of our events, Bike & Build participants will review, evaluate, and discuss the applications we field. Funding decisions will be made - as a group - by each event through prescribed criteria and voting systems. All funding decisions will be certified by Bike & Build's Director. When evaluating proposals, preference will be given to projects that:
|
| - Address a demonstrated need and suggest a high potential of impacting the affordable housing landscape on a local, regional, or national level, - Create incremental opportunities for involvement by young adults in the affordable housing cause, and - Will direct local, regional, or national media and community attention to the affordable housing cause. | Important Dates - 2008
