Can I still apply to Bike & Build?

  • Yes, you can still apply to Bike & Build for 2012.
  • There are a few spots remaining for summer 2012.
  • There is a waitlist for certain trips as well. Read more here.

Other Considerations

Here are a few things to keep in mind when applying:

  • We accept applications for riders that are no older than 25 as of May 1st 2012.  We accept leaders as old as 28 as of May 1st.
  • We have a full time staff of 3 people!  Please keep this in mind whenever you're interacting with the office.  We try our hardest to respond to phone calls and e-mails in a timely fashion, but it is physically impossible for us to respond to everything immediately.  We're not a big corporation and you'll often find that we try to make our materials both informative and somewhat humorous.  It's just the way we roll.
  • Please allow 2-3 business days for us to process your application.  
  • BIKE & BUILD IS NOT A PROFESSIONALLY LED CYCLING TOUR.   Some days you will have amazing overnight accommodations and meals.  Some days you will not.  Some days you will shower with a hose.  Some days you will get lost.  Some days are going to be absolutely amazing.  Others will not be.  In the end it is all worth it though.  Trust us (and 1250+ other alums).
  • We do not know how long it will take for trips to fill up.  In 2011 we had 300 complete applications at the end of our lottery people and had full routes and a waitlist by mid November. The waitlist generally moves fairly quickly but if you really want to participate next summer we strongly encourage you to apply during the lottery period.
  • Dates are not yet finalized - we will be working on these over the coming weeks. Dates will change slightly from 2011, though most likely not very significantly. Early trips will start early in the summer, and late trips will start later. The reason for this is that we are still in the process of implementing suggestions from 2011 riders and leaders in an effort to make the 2012 trips even better than before.

Registration Materials

- If you've ever registered in our system before (whether you were assigned a route or not) login to your account here, and look for the "Apply for a 2012 Summer Trip" link. If you forgot the password for your previous account you can reset it here.

- For completely NEW registrations (never registered in our system before at all) use this link: Online Application.

- Once you do your online registration download the Rider Application form [pdf, 467kb], complete it and upload to the B&B system.
