Nina's bio:
This past year, my school (yay NYU!) sponsored a one-week trip to a study abroad site of our choice. I, along with 30 of my classmates, chose to go to Ghana. When asked why we chose Ghana in particular, most people said things like, ?I think it will be a great learning experience,? or ?This is the best opportunity for me to travel to Africa.? My reason was much simpler: it was the coolest study abroad site! When I first heard about Bike & Build, my initial reaction was essentially the same: bike across the country? And do it for charity? COOL! So besides having the excitability of a young child, I also like to travel a lot. I?ve spent this fall semester studying abroad in London, while also fulfilling the classic stereotype of being a young 20-something who backpacks through Europe. There is the slight possibility that I may have overbooked myself by going to a different city almost every weekend, but that just adds to the excitement, don?t you think? My indecisive nature probably contributes to the fact that I have so many interests. And probably because I?m easily distracted. Oo, shiny! I like playing piano and guitar. I am rarely serious and often sarcastic. I like coffee! and coffee-flavored things. I am an adrenaline junkie and would like to go skydiving someday. I like playing around with computers and am double majoring in Computer Science and Economics. I can be both hyper and lazy, although usually not at the same time. As for what I can bring to the group: spastic energy, a willingness to try new things, atrocious cooking skills (oh, wait . . . I mean, extremely-carb-centric-meals-(pasta!!)-which-is-actually-kind-of-a-good-thing-when-biking-upwards-of-100-miles-a-day), amazing drywall installation skills (okay, I?ve only done it once but shh...), the ability to eat peanut butter and jelly sandwiches every day, and magical powers (maybe). I hope that?s enough. (Unless the magical powers are a desirable attribute to have, in which case I?ll work on it). I can?t wait to start Bike & Build! Although I must admit, I am not in the least bit a morning person, so I?m not sure how much excitement there will be at six in the morning. Hm... I can?t wait to start Bike & Build! :D Cheers, Nina
