Kimberly's bio:

Hello All!

My name is Kimberly Korzym.  I am was born and raised in St. Louis, MO and now live back-and-forth between Columbia, SC and Charleston, SC.  I am 21 years-old and a Historic Preservation and Community Planning student at the College of Charleston. While I am not overly active in any campus groups at CofC, I was an intern for MoPIRG in St. Louis where I railed for environmental protection and pushed young people to vote.  Now my sight is set on affordable housing! I have worked with Habitat for Hummanity once in the past and I had a wonderful time; in the future I would like to blend my interest in historic properties with affordable housing to help cities aid those in need while preserving their heritage! I believe that Charleston has amazing potential, as do many cities out there with aging structures!

All in all, I am an easy-going (but very determinded) midwestern girl who loves doing anything to help others! I have overcome multiple personal challenges in the past and now I want to do something that not only challenges myself, but aids others along the way.  I have been waiting to sign up for Bike and Build since I discovered the group in September 2008, and now that time has come and I am overly excited! I used to spend my younger years biking any chance that I had and now it's time to get back into the swing of things!

In the end I hope to raise awareness about affordable housing, to better educate myself, to challenge myself more than I have ever in the past, and to inspire others along the way!
