Hi Everyone! My name is Emily Bonnette and I am a junior at Otterbein College studying art with concentrations in art education, graphic design, and photography! I also run track for the Cardinals focusing on long and triple jumping. I enjoy sports of all kinds and am a member of a jump rope team! I love the outdoors and experiencing the beauty of the wonderful life God gives us. Family is very important to me and I am thankful that I have an awesome one! Although I currently live at school in Westerville, Ohio, my home is in  rural Marietta,Ohio (the first settlement in the Northwest Territory). I love it here because of the small hometown feel, and most of my cousins and extended family live nearby so we enjoy spending time together. Faith, family, and friends keep me happy!

I heard about Bike and Build through a Facebook application and became very excited! I told a few friends and my parents, and each are equally excited about the opportunity to help serve a great cause while having fun and getting to know others at the same time! In today's time, many people are struggling and it is important that we all work together to aid in giving support to others in any way possible, and this opportunity is an excellent way to explore one's own self while serving others. I have no experience in Affordable Housing, but am thoroughly excited. I have volunteered around the world to teach jump rope workshops and hopefully inspire others to work hard and love life. I have been greatly inspired by my coaches and teachers, and have found a love in teaching and helping others. I hope one day to impact the lives of others through my actions and words. I know there is a Habitat for Humanity chapter at my college and plan to get involved very soon and let them know about Bike and Build.

I am ready to start raising money for a great cause and have some fun in the process! The experience of travelling coast to coast will be an eye-opening experience, and one that I will share with others in hopes of building this program for the future! We will be learning about ourselves, exploring new territory, striving toward goals, and most all helping others with friends! I’m very thankful for this chance, and will do my best in each day to prepare, strive, complete, and continue helping to aid in the lives of others!

Take Care and God Bless J

Emily
