There was a torrential downpour this morning to greet Mr. Allen on his first B&B ride.
Joe says "hi Mom."
Also, today marked another state line crossing. Though, we didn't run across a "Welcome to Indiana" sign. Instead, we rode on a state line road that separated Ohio from Indiana.
Furthermore, we were met with a 30 mph head wind during a brief segment of our trip that made going forward a struggle. To combat this problem, I drafted off Mr. Allen who had enough stuff on his bike to make a nice sail.
Lastly, I ended the day at a local ice cream parlour that was modeled after it's original look in 1900.
William's bio:

Howdy all,

I am native Texan who currently attends Case Western Reserve University, a nerdy science and engineering school with NO affiliations to the military, and I plan on graduating in May of 2010. If all goes well, I'll end up with a BA in chemistry and minors in psychology, Spanish, and biology. Next fall, I'll be attending medical school in Texas and I cannot wait to have a social life that is non-existent for the next four years of my life. I have some ideas of what specialty I "think" I would like to pursue, but really, it will all depend on my rotations in medical school.

Away from school, I am a retired varsity soccer player with intentions of continuing my passion on a not so competitive level. I played as a defender and was able to travel to many parts of the United States through my involvement. As a result, I developed a desire to explore the country, and it is one of the many reasons for joining up with Bike and Build.

More importantly, I'm very interested in Bike and Build because I've worked directly with homeless people and people in need of affordable housing through the various "pre-med" activities that I've participated in at college. I'm also very interested in the physical challenge that lies ahead of me and I feel like the cross-country tour will be a good adventure to quench my athletic spirit.

I am excited to share the road with my fellow CUS riders and I hope to bring home many stories and pictures to share with family and friends.
